Milo In2 Cricket

The Milo “In2 Cricket” Program will run for children ages 5 to 8 years old. This program is designed to learn the basic skills of the game in a fun and supportive environment. Parents are encouraged to be involved where possible. This will run every Tuesday and Thursday from 4.30pm to 5.30 pm at the Kingston Beach Oval commencing on Tuesday 28th October and Thursday 30th October.

There will be five weekly sessions before Christmas finishing on Tuesday 25th November and Thursday 27th November. The remaining three sessions will be held in February. As parking is an issue at the ground, we would appreciate Milo participants parking at the beach end of the ground or at the medical centre car park. Children participate on a Tuesday or Thursday so please nominate your preference.

Twilight Cricket

A Grade 3 & 4 Twilight competition will run on Monday evenings from 5.15pm till approx 7.30/7.45pm. Numbers for this competition may need to be restricted to 80 due to a shortage of grounds. Teams will consist of a range of age groups to enable games to be less one-sided.

Mini games are played with modified rules at venues in the Kingborough area. Teams are coached and managed by parents on game night and this support is extremely important if the competition is to be successful.

Girls

Numbers permitting we will also have a separate team in the girls competition.

Under 13's

We will have teams in the U/13 TCA roster (This will depend on numbers and parental support). These games are played on Sunday Mornings from 9.00 am – 12.00pm.

Training for the U/13’s will be on Fridays from 5.00 – 6.00pm beginning on 17th October. Under 13 Team Coaches/Managers are Dale Bradburn, Mark Drake and Leigh Rawson.

Under 15's

Depending on numbers and parent support we plan we to have three teams – one for the TCA roster and two for the Youth League roster. Games are played on Sunday Afternoons from 1.00 – 5.30 pm. TCA team roster will commence on Sunday 26th October. Youth rosters will commence shortly after.

Training for the U/15’s will start on Tuesday 30th September and will be held on subsequent Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:15-5:30pm. The Under 15 coach is Jack Dare with parent support required for match days.

Under 17's

The KDCC has one team in the Tasmanian Cricket Association roster. Games commence on Sunday 26th October 2008 and will be played on Sunday's from 11.00am - 6.00 pm. Training for the U/17's is held Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:30 - 7:30pm. The Under 17 coach is Jack Dare.

Junior Development Committee

The role of the Junior Development Committee is to monitor and co-ordinate the Junior Development Program and to recommend policy to the Kingborough District Cricket Club board with respect to Junior Development. The committee acts as a conduit for parents to have input into Junior Development and Junior Development Policy.

Parent volunteers are supported by an information session which will explain the fundamentals of the game and the aims and objectives of the specific programmes.

All coaches have a minimum of Level 1 coaching accreditation and are supported by the Director of Coaching.
